Fellowships at the Hechinger Institute
"Covering America, Covering Community Colleges" Fellowship
The Hechinger Institute is looking for twelve journalists who want to tackle a major project about community colleges in 2010 for the third year of its "Covering America, Covering Community College Fellowships.'' Each fellow will receive a $7,500 stipend and spend an expense-paid week in New York City meeting with experts, conducting researching and visiting local community colleges.

Exploring Teaching: A Fellowship
The Hechinger Institute is offering a Fellowship to Journalists interested in pursuing a major story or series on teaching and learning in 2009. This Fellowship is designed to support journalism on critical topics in K-12 teaching. This prestigiousFellowship is open to journalists working in all media in Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio as well as to journalists based elsewhere who reach a national audience. Journalists selected will pursue in-depth projects of their own devising on a broad range of relevant topics: teacher training, effectiveness, distribution, compensation and retention.
