| October 4-5, 2012 New York City Co-presented with the Innosight Institute Program description:Journalists will meet in New York City to explore how the latest technology is changing education, and the many ways digital media are altering how young people learn. We’ll hear from experts and discuss what journalists need to know to cover the rapidly evolving world of digital learning.The Seminar begins on Thursday, with a field-trip to the brand-new Merit Prep in Newark, which uses cutting-edge technology to personalize instruction. We’ll meet school leaders and new teachers, and see how the school’s “blended-learning” model takes shape in the first weeks of the 2012-13 year.On Friday, at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism’s state-of-the-art campus in Midtown, a panel of educators will share how they use technology in their schools. Noted experts will talk about what’s holding back innovation, and then we’ll discuss how you can dig into your local schools’ use of technology. Meals are included throughout, and we will cover the cost of a round-trip, economy-class airfare and one night at the Seminar hotel for out-of-town participants.
